I’m Cameron Bell, VP Portfolio Management at National Health Investors. My primary role at the company is to oversee our lease and loan portfolio of assets. For me and my team, we leverage NIC MAP Vision for various reasons. One would be portfolio management — how are we and our operators doing compared to the competitive data set? But then also it’s keeping tabs on which markets are performing better than others, and are there markets we should consider exiting? The best way to do that is to get updated data sets and listen in on the quarterly calls. The other way we use it is for new business. Demographics are a big piece of that, and new supply is vital in underwriting. The two data sets now in a singular platform provide us with almost everything we need to look at new deals, evaluate our current deals, and just make everyone’s life a lot easier. Ten years ago when we first made the decision to go with NIC MAP, it really was just to be aware of the industry and the trends — occupancy, construction activity, rate growth. It’s been amazing to watch that platform grow and its ability to refine its data, expand its coverage, and then with the integration of VisionLTC into the NIC MAP Vision portal, it makes our lives easier to have a one-stop shop. What I like about NIC MAP Vision and the team is they’re always thinking about what else they can provide. I’m excited to see what’s coming down the pike.
